Above is some notes taken by a student this past Sunday as one of my adult volunteer leaders spoke about Godly leadership versus worldly leadership. I had to make a copy to give to the rest of the students! The great part about this is that I think only 1 or 2 things on the list came from adults which makes me smile because there are students “getting it” as far as the difference.
It also reminds me that what we want and what we need are two very different things. My Adult volunteer leader stated, “I want to eat chocolate ice cream all the time versus a healthy meal.” I think most of us can agree that we battle this in small ways every single day of our lives between what we want and what we need. I’m so thankful that I have what I need in Jesus and everything else is just extra stuff. What about your wants and needs?
