1 Year Anniversary of Youth Ministry Ideas

Mama Feeding Her Baby

The above picture is a game that I played with the first youth group I led 7 years ago!

Although most will see this posting on the 22nd, today (still 21st), is the one-year anniversary of Youth Ministry Ideas.

When I first started this blog, I had the intention of gradually adding youth ministry ideas as I experienced them myself. I had no idea of how much traffic I could get - although I was hoping that someone would read it.

For my first year doing this, I have ended up with 27,569 visits and about 45 subscribers via feedburner. The traffic for some reason seemed to explode around May - 7 months after I started.

Because I have this going on now, I have decided to set some goals with Youth Ministry Ideas for the next year:

  • Clean up the site - this includes removing and adding stuff on the blog
  • Professionalize - I’d like to have a dedicated editor for grammar misstakes and make the articles more consistant in length and content. Balance the categories so that there is not a dominant one.
  • Representatives - I would like at least one youth pastor from each state that could represent youth ministry ideas in his or her state. I would only be requesting 1 idea a month.
  • Group Magazine - I have contacted group magazine to feature their ideas section on this site - I figured it would be a good deal for them and YMI.

Because this is the 1 Year Anniversary, I hope to give 1 post-a-day this week.

Thanks for reading!
