Towards the end of 2007 I got to speak over the phone with Jeff Borton who is the high school pastor @ Christ Fellowship Church in Miami florida. The executive pastor at Jeff’s church is Eric Geiger who co-authored the book above called Simple Church.

Jeff found my youth ministry blog and has asked if I had any thoughts about a, “Simple Student Ministry” because Jeff is going to be one of the authors of a book that will be out next year called, you guessed it – “Simple Student Ministry”.

If you haven’t read Simple Church, I would highly suggest reading it. The summary of the book is that many churches today are too complicated with various programs several nights a week that tires out volunteers, weakens vision, and therefore deflating the strength and dynamic that the church can and should have. Simple church then provides solutions to removing clutter and provides many statistics and examples of churches who have made the change in structure to a Simple Church. Jeff has asked me to post a survey that will help aid him in getting feed back from youth leaders across the country about their ministry programs.
