Answers the question: How do I engage in spiritual warfare?
A few years back, Rockwell released a song that can really get in your head and start playing with your mind. See if this brings back any memories:
I always feel like
Somebody’s watching me
And I have …

I’m excited to be blogging again this week. Today’s Monday Ministry Helper is about dealing with our sin.
In the Sunday School class that I’m attending we are going through a book by Dr. James MacDonald called “10 Choices“. You can read more about it HERE.
Chapter two is about Choosing forgiveness and at first I thought that it would be more focused on how to forgive people that wronged you and how to let go of things that you are holding on to, but rather the whole chapter was focused on …

NEW OFFICE POLICY
Dress Code:
1) You are advised to come to work dressed according to your salary.
2) If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we will assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a raise.
3) If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you may buy nicer clothes, and therefore you do not need a raise.
4) If you dress just right, you are right where you need to be and therefore you do not need …

I enjoy eating and I enjoy people. Put them together and (no I don’t mean eating people silly) get a great way to build your team! This weeks Thursday team building thought is to consistently take your volunteer staff out to eat.
I would recommend that if you can do this at least quarterly and if you can pull off monthly then you are doing really well.
What happens when we sit down and eat together?
Time - it’s one of the best ways to utilize your time because you have to eat, …

This week’s talk Tuesday is Consider Serving. It’s notes and a powerpoint on a message that I did about serving.
Serving is one area that I think youth ministry needs to improve on because it’s where they get to see the realness of Christianity.
Please feel free to edit, add pictures, or whatever you want to do with it.

This Week’s Monday Ministry Helper is a small group leader evaluation form from YouthMinistryHelper.com. You can check them out.
Here are the questions on the form that you can download below:
Am I living a passionate faith and a lifestyle that is above reproach?
Who are the students whom I’ve really made a strong connection?
Who isn’t showing up to my small group that should be? What kind of follow up should I do this week?
What have I done with my students outside of the programmed small group time?
Am I challenging students in my …

For this week’s Friday Funny, let me introduce you to me back in 1958:
It’s really amazing that I haven’t aged much since then, but boy the styles have changed. Ok, I just yearbooked myself so that I can see what I look like with hair - I admit it.
If you go to www.yearbookyourself.com you can take a trip back in time and see what you would look like in a yearbook setting from 1950 - 2000. You can even choose what type of mall venue to display. My 1994 pic …

This Team Building Thursday is something very simple and practicle, but you wouldn’t believe the mileage that you can get out of this!
If you haven’t done this before or in awhile, I would suggest writing a good old fashion letter to those that help in your youth ministry.
Here’s why:
1) It’s tangible. We live in an electronic age and most people are flooded with emails all day, but when you get something in the mail, you get to actually put your hands on it and stop for a minute to look …

Tools are Important
Imagine trying to clean a public bathroom using only your tongue. You won’t want to imagine it for too long (take my word for it).
I think sometimes we forget how important it is to have the right tool. If you don’t know anything about carpentry, auto mechanics, or metalwork, don’t tune out. I’m talking about any kind of tool; anything that allows you to do something you wouldn’t normally be able to.
What kind of world would it be if we all started spreading our peanut butter with our …

For this Ministry Monday I have decided to share why I like Student Life Bible Study. I actually already did a post on this, but it had a bug and messed up my layout so I deleted it awhile back and wanted to get it back on here. Here’s why I like them and be sure to check out a free download from them:
Student Life Bible Study is an excellent 6 year material oriented program that gives your students a well rounded Biblical viewpoint by the time they are seniors.

This past month I recently quit my job to become self-employed and now because of my pockets of free time, I will attempt something I have never accomplished yet in blogging: “A Schedule”.
I know, for most youth leaders this is a dreaded word, maybe even a curse word, but I thought that I would give it a shot and if I don’t make it, I guess you can laugh or comment me or whatever.
Here’s what you can look forward to beginning next Monday September 8th:
