Main Point: Good vs. Evil influences (or awareness or Satanic vs Godly spiritual forces) or Battle for your soul.

The Flow: Have a student begin having a phone conversation with a God-like person and then have a Satan-like person call the student and have the student be switching back and forth between the two conversations and ending it however you decide.

I’m going to challenge you to write up your own youth ministry skit based on a student and a cell phone conversation with Jesus-like person and Satan-like person. The reason I’m saying it like that is because we want the conversations to be from God and From Satan but freed up enough where it’s not just actually Jesus and Actually what satan would be saying to the student in the skit.

Be as creative as possible. For example don’t say this is a conversation with God vs the Devil but rather through the conversation students will pick up on what the two different people on the phone are saying with their words. For example have the God like voice be gentle, loving and caring and saying good things about the student. Have the Satan voice telling the student how pathetic he/she is and how he/she can’t do anything right.

Plan your skit out and practice it out for at least a month before you actually present it to the group. This will make the skit way more effective. If you have the time and the equipment having mood music with the skit would be awesome. A great song for this would be life houses’  “Everything” – You may have seen THIS SKIT before with the music. But pick something that would work for your group. You also may want to think about a stage set up with a bedroom or something like that for more effectiveness.

The reason I want you to focus on writing this out yourself is because it will be more creative and local for where you are at. You may want to have a couple students come up with the lines or be involved with it and it will be more fun and impacting this way.

When the youth ministry skit is over you can speak about how in this life there is a battle for your soul and where your soul will end up in eternity. You could probably even go with a series on this. Ephesians chapter 6 is obviously a great chapter on this, but you may want to incorporate other scriptures too.

Cool thanks for sharing.

we did a message on spiritual warfare with middle schoolers a few weeks ago…it began with the demoniac of Gerasenes in Mark 5 and moved into the battle for our souls…we used a piece from Screwtape and made a video(http://vimeo.com/32155084)…was very effective for us…we ended with a call to put on the armor daily!
