Local Youth Ministry Missions

Let me just start by saying that I see this as a HUGE thing for our youth today! I see this as something that can be done across the country! I may be dreaming big here, however, I wanted to give you a wonder youth ministry idea about doing a local missions trip.
Last week I participated in a local missions project in our community called REACH. We named it REACH – you could name it whatever you like.
What is REACH?
REACH is a week long local missionary experience available for participation …

This Year’s Best Youth Ministry Conference Meet Me There

I’m excited to share with you about a new Youth Ministry Conference called Scribble Sessions.
I will be going to Scribble Sessions so I’m looking forward to meeting any that may also be attending this event. I believe it will be one of the best youth ministry conferences this year!
I spoke with Chris Ball who is helping to coordinate Scribble Sessions and I wanted to share with you about what it will be about. I want to apologize first because I wanted to write about this last month, but I have …

Persecuted Church, Prayer, and Worship Night

Last week for our youth ministry we did a persecuted church, prayer, and worship night. It was awesome!

We opened in prayer, watched a voice of the martyrs film about Christians being hurt for their faith and how …

If you are a part of a demonation typically there are camps available for you every summer. If you are non-denominational then you can pick and choose a camp that would be beneficial for students or you could put together your own camp.
Here are some things to think through as you pray about putting together your own camp:

Dates – When will the camp be and for how long? Make …

Massive Easter Egg Hunt

This can be a fun youth ministry game or event. Coordinate efforts from all the other youth ministries in your town and hold a massive youth ministry Easter egg hunt. For some reason high school and Jr highers still love to chase after Easter eggs and I’ve done it with both large and small groups and it always is a fun thing to watch.
For the event:

Michael Tait New Face of NewsBoys!

So did you already here the NEWSBOYS NEWS?
If you haven’t – straight from their NEWSBOYS WEBSITE is the article about Michael Tait taking over as the front man of NewsBoys!
I knew this time would eventually come so seeing NewsBoys live last year made it more significant! I remember going to youth group in high school and listening to them!
I even had a jr high kid say that I looked like Peter if I’d take off my glasses and paint black around my eyes – Jr higher perspectives – gotta love …

Apparently there’s a “greater” debate out there between whether today’s teens are the smartest or the dumbest generation America has ever seen.
I’m not going to lie: There are a lot of things to worry about. To put it plainly, this is the most ADD generation we’ve probably ever seen. Attention spans range from 3-5 seconds, and if they’re not entertained, they’ll leave you in an instant.
How should that affect our youth group meetings? Many times we scramble to keep teens’ attention and draw them into the message or Bible lesson …
