Ways To Make Extra Money

I’m writing this now because today I had another youth leader wanting to know how to make some extra money. So I’m going to give you some options. You may agree or disagree or spite me – but I will share with you what I do. This blog that you are reading right now makes me money every month and it’s been nice, but you need to decide for yourself how you are going to do it.

Here are some ways:

Find an extra job – duh. Bad thing is you will be trading your time for hours and may not be doable for you. Plus, you really aren’t going to make that much more because we all know part-time youth leaders are full time anyways. On a positive side – maybe with enough hours they may give you a benefit like health insurance or something. Yes I have had to do this before.
Blog like I do: Like I already said I make money with this blog every month and if you look you can probably figure out how I do it. There is advertising and products on my site. Now if you are wanting to do the same thing – it’s probably best that you get a free blog and then contact me about it. And it will take a pretty long time to get any where on it – so you have to be patient with this method – but it can earn you a few to hundreds of extra dollars per month – seriously – lol.
Join an Internet business: Lots of scams out there so be careful. Make sure you have a plan to get signups. Most of them if you can’t get signups then you don’t make money, but on the flip side if you get signups to your internet business then it’s usually residual meaning you will get paid on it again the next month and so it can grow and help you that way. Do handy man stuff for people: I actually did a window cleaning business for awhile that made some great extra side money and could work it at my own pace and schedule. All I did was stick an ad in the newspaper and I always had some people calling me. There is a little start up cost to get your squeegees and equipment but nothing too terribly expensive. It may be just mowing yards for people.

Ways to Supplement Your Youth Pastor Salary

I’ve heard story after story and have even been there myself about the lower wages of being a Youth Pastor. So let me share with you what I currently do. Others that I know also are able to supplement their incomes too by doing some of the things that I do. Oh and by the way just because this post says 2008 doesn’t mean it’s old news – if your reading this it means I can still help you…matter of fact I just updated this post as of September 2011. But regardless of the date I can work with you.

What is it that I do? I blog and earn income because of the traffic that I receive. This is the simplest way I can say it. There are steps to getting it to that point and I can share them with you. I have some other ideas too if you don’t want to blog that I can share with you.

Please realize that the steps I will go over with you do take time and you will need to decide how much time you will spend on these things and balancing a youth ministry program and time with your family. However, with some diligent work and time, you can supplement your salary for whatever you need this extra source to do.
