The goal is to get 1000 youth pastors to take the survey and since I have about 1000 readers I thought maybe this could be possible.
You can take the survey by visiting: www.youthministrysurvey.com
It will be interesting to see how you answer some of the questions.

Also if you have some parents of some youth that wouldn’t mind taking a survey that would be great too!

It will only take 10min and this is the best week to do it because of the Thanksgiving holiday I know most probably don’t have youth tonight.

Thanks!

Need a youth ministry website? Need a church website? or both?

How about for FREE?

Need a youth ministry website? Need a church website? or both?

How about for FREE?

I wanted to offer to my readers that I can help you with church website design or build a youth website. Before I get into the details I think it’s important to ask why have a website?

Here are some reasons that I think it would be important to have a church website and or youth ministry website:

Communication – I think it’s probably one of the top reasons to have a website. You can stay communicated with your youth and they can go on the web at any time to see what’s going on. Also it’s great for parents too because they can check out what is going on in the youth ministry and see pictures and more.

Outreach – Youth or church attendees can simply tell their friends to check out the church or youth group before actually going. This can be good or bad even though we want it to be good. If the site is updated and has pictures of what takes place then it’s definitely good because people can see what takes place and can even be away that creates a desire for them to want to show up to the actual thing.

Social – Blogs help keep your site social because you can leave comments and allow your staff and or students to sign up as a writer so that there is some great interaction taking place which is good for your church and youth ministry. Give them reasons to come back and interact.

Get started by going to: YouthMinistry.ws

Thanks

Check out what Ken says:

“I have included my most creative youth ideas from almost 20 years of youth ministry with teens from around the world. The youth ideas are grouped according to categories and include my favorite youth games, creative teaching ideas, youth devotions, children’s sermons, illustrations for youth sermons, object lessons for children and youth, and youth ministry training resources. (P.S. The creative ideas are great for children’s ministry and young adult ministry too)”

Wow, 20 years worth of stuff. I hope that after 20 years I can still say that I have my hand in youth ministry too – so far I have reached almoast 9 years!

Ken also has developed some ebooks that may be worth checking out too! Thanks Ken for your service to Youth Ministry and my prayers are with you to continue marching on and forward advancing the kingdom of God with your work.

I hope to strive to keep my own ideas going and to offer more and more fresh youth ministry ideas in a way that benefits all those in youth ministry too.

Let me know what you think about Ken’s stuff!

Students love to text. Some say they can do it in their sleep, and I believe it (if anybody has been able to catch this phenomenon on film, let me know). How can we harness this power and use it for good? These tools let you utilize the potential of text messaging in your youth ministry for communication and entertainment.

Simply TXT: Send individual or group text messages to your students, parents, or volunteers. This tool seriously blew me away. I’ve been dreaming about being able to create groups and send text messages on the fly, like I do with email now, but I had never seen something that could actually do it. Simply TXT lets you build groups and send messages whenever you like–you can even schedule them in advance–and the pricing is pretty reasonable.

Poll Everywhere: Create polls and free response questions your students respond to via text message. Results are updated live and can be displayed right on the screen. Another tool I was honestly thinking, “Wouldn’t it be cool if…” before I heard about it. Pricing is also very reasonable with a free option for audiences under 30 people.

Twitter: If you don’t know Twitter already, get on it, and start tweeting regularly. Self described, “Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?” Don’t ask me why, but teens love it. A good friend told me they’re using Twitter to send text messages to their whole youth group without paying a dime. Here’s how: Set up a Twitter account for the youth group, tell students about it, and show them how to sign up for “mobile updates.” Every post you make to your Twitter will go as a text message to the entire group! (Confused? I’ll be posting a detailed how-to on my blog soon.)

Enjoy, and happy texting!

Imagine trying to clean a public bathroom using only your tongue. You won’t want to imagine it for too long (take my word for it).

Imagine trying to clean a public bathroom using only your tongue. You won’t want to imagine it for too long (take my word for it).

I think sometimes we forget how important it is to have the right tool. If you don’t know anything about carpentry, auto mechanics, or metalwork, don’t tune out. I’m talking about any kind of tool; anything that allows you to do something you wouldn’t normally be able to.

What kind of world would it be if we all started spreading our peanut butter with our index finger?

The examples may seem a bit absurd, but even more ridiculous is the way many of us go around attempting to minister without first equipping ourselves for the task. This is why there those who work to ensure that everyone in ministry has access to quality tools (tools like Youth Ministry Ideas) that will help them be effective in ministry. One such tool is MinistryLIVE.org.

The stated goal of MinistryLIVE is to provide those in ministry with quality ideas and practical tools for all kinds of ministry. Whether you are the pastor of a small country church, a mature believer discipling a young christian, or a youth worker interacting with young people every week, MinistryLIVE has tools to help you and those you work with.

From teaching tips, to sermon outlines, from youth ministry philosophy to ice-breakers and games, we want to give people everything they need to serve God with excellence. The staff of MinistryLIVE is an eclectic group of people. They each have their own unique niche in ministry, but they share a common love for Jesus Christ and a passionate desire to serve him.

It’s important to work together as the body of Christ to reach generations for His glory. Places like Youth Ministry Ideas and MinistryLIVE.org are demonstrations of that team-work.
